This week in maths, the children had lots of fun exploring 2D and 3D shapes! They sorted them into groups and even used them to create colourful repeating patterns. In history, we took a trip back in time to discover what beach holidays were like during the Victorian era. The children loved comparing these holidays to the ones we enjoy today and sharing their ideas. In English, our Year 1 and Year 2 writers have been busy planning their own imaginative stories inspired by the beautiful book Dadaji’s Paintbrush. We can’t wait to see their creativity shine in the final pieces!

This week in Class 1, we’ve created beautiful robin-themed Christmas cards to send to Southlands and decorated baubles for the Christmas Tree Festival in the chapel. It’s been wonderful to see the children listening so carefully to instructions and adding their own creative touches to make each piece unique. These activities have linked perfectly with the Year 1 and Year 2 work on writing instructions in English.
Our Reception children have loved exploring the story of Stick Man in Drawing Club, and we’ve also been practising for our Nativity next Tuesday afternoon. A huge thank you to everyone who has been helping the children learn their lines at home—we can’t wait to share this special performance with you!
